Benjamin Franklin is credited with coining the phrase "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Well, as a legitimate blood relative of Benjamin Franklin, I have to say that I fully agree with my late cousin. We often find ourselves in predicaments that easily could have been prevented with just a smidgeon of pre-planning. For example, keeping our vehicles maintained will help to prevent mechanical problems and tire blow outs. Eating breakfast in the morning every day will help our bodies function better and stay healthier. Exercising regularly at least 30 minutes daily will keep our muscles and bones strong and help to burn fat and build muscle thus preventing muscle atrophy and weight gain. These are but a few examples of ways in which a little prevention can stave off problems down the road.
I will be putting out a series of posts as food for thought discussing different avenues of prevention and health maintenance which are easy and even fun to implement. Join me for some thought provoking insight as we explore our habits and learn more about ourselves and our choices and how they affect our consequences.
